Judge Cherol Juanita Nellon received her B.A. in criminology from California State University, Fullerton and her J.D. from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. After passing the California bar in 1997, she became a deputy public defender for the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, where she remained until becoming a commissioner in 2016. She was appointed to the bench in 2018 by Governor Jerry Brown.
