Judge Deirdre Hughes Hill received her B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1983 and her J.D. from Loyola Law School Los Angeles in 1985. After passing the California bar in 1987, she practiced business law at Saltzburg, Ray & Bergman and served as President of the Board of Police Commissioners for the Los Angeles Police Department before becoming Inspector General for the LAPD. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Gray Davis in 1999.
