Dudley W. Gray, II received his B.A. in English from the College of Idaho in 1975 and his J.D. from the University of Idaho in 1978. After passing the California bar in 1979, he was a partner in a criminal defense law firm with his father and brother, Gray, Gray & Gray in Torrance. He was appointed to the bench by Governor George Deukmejian in 1990. He served as South Bay Municipal Court assistant presiding judge in 1991, presiding judge in 1992, and then assistant presiding judge again from 1993-1995. Although he retired in 2019, he still sits on assignment. He also teaches as a Senior Lecturer of Communication Studies at Loyola Marymount University College of Communication and Fine Arts.
