Judge Kerry Randall Bensinger received his B.A. from Yale University in 1982 and his J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law in 1987. During law school, he externed for the Honorable David V. Kenyon. After passing the California bar in 1987, he became a deputy public defendant for the Federal Public Defender of the Central District of California until 1991 when he joined Quinn Kully and Morrow. Thereafter, he worked at Bensinger Ritt Tai and Thvedt, becoming partner in 1995. He has previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Law teaching trial advocacy at Loyola Law School and as faculty of the C.A.C.J. during the Capital Case Defense Seminar. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. in 2011. He is a democrat.
