Judge Kimberly “Kate” Anne Knill received her B.S. from the University of Arizona and her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law. After passing the California bar in 1988, she worked as an associate at McDermott, Will & Emery until 1994 when she became a sole practitioner. During this time, she also worked as a writing instructor at Whittier Law School from 1997-1998. In 2014, she became a research attorney at the Orange County Superior Court, and then a senior appellate attorney at the Fourth District Court of Appeal in 2016. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jerry Brown in 2018. She is a republican.
