Judge Laura Conway Ellison received her B.A. from California State University at Los Angeles in 1984 and her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1987. After passing the California bar in 1988, she worked as a deputy district attorney in hardcore gang prosecution until she was appointed to the bench in 1998 by Governor Pete Wilson.
