Judge Marc Dempsey Gross received his B.A. from University of California, Los Angeles in 1977 and his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 1981. After passing the California bar in 1981, he worked at Rifkind & Sterling Inc. until 1982 when he joined Gross & Gross PC. In 2013, he was appointed to the bench by Governor Jerry Brown. He is a democrat.
