Judge Margaret Miller Bernal received her B.A. from California State University at Long Beach in 1979 and her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1983, passing the California bar that same year. She was a partner at Miller, Bernal & Angevine at the time she was appointed to commissioner of the municipal court in 1992. She became a judge in 1998, and then joined the superior court when the municipal and superior courts were consolidated in 2000.
