Judge Monica L. Bachner received her B.A. from Harvard University (Radcliffe College) in 1978 and her J.D. from Columbia University in 1981. After passing the California bar in 1981, she worked as an Attorney at Kadison, Pfaelzer, Woodard, Quinn & Rossi from 1981-1984. She then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, becoming chief prosecutor of the office’s Santa Ana branch in 1998. In 2002, at the time she was working as senior litigation counsel in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she was appointed to the bench by Governor Gray Davis. She is also a Lecturer at Law at USC Gould School of Law teaching trial advocacy.
