Judge Ralph Christopher Hofer received his B.A. Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1975 and his J.D. cum laude from the University of Southern California in 1978. After graduation, he worked at Ball Hunt Hart Brown & Baerwitz from 1978-1980, passing the California bar in 1979. He was then an associate at Blecher, Collins & Hoecker from 1981-1982 and at Bryan Cave from 1982-1983. Thereafter, he worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles from 1983 to 1986 where he was appointed to the Presidential Task Force on Narcotics Enforcement. From 1986 until 2009, he returned to Blecher & Collins P.C. where he practiced complex business litigation and he became a partner. He also worked as an Adjunct Professor teaching antitrust law at Loyola Law School from 1989-2002. In 2009, he was appointed to the bench by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is a republican.
