Judge Roger Tetsuo Ito received his B.A. from the University of California at San Diego in 1986 and his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1989. After passing the California bar in 1989, he joined the firm Burke, Williams & Sorenseon as an associate from 1989-1991. He then became a deputy city attorney in Los Angeles from 1991-1995 until he joined the district attorney’s office. In 2002, he was elected as a commissioner to the Los Angeles Superior Court, and then was appointed to the bench by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2002. He is not to be confused with Judge Lance Ito who presided over the OJ Simpson criminal trial. He is a democrat.
