Judge Susan Byrant-Deason received her B.A. from the University of California in 1968 and her J.D. from Southwestern School of Law in 1978. After passing the California bar in 1980, she worked as a prosecutor for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office before she was elected to the bench in 1994.
