Judge Theodore Randolph Howard received his B.A. in Philosophy from St. John’s College in 1964 and his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1968. After passing the California bar in 1969, he worked at Boyle Ateill & Stearns as an associate until 1973 when he joined Kinkle Rodiger Graf Dewberry & Spriggs. In 1975 he became a partner at Parker, Stanbury, McGee, Babcock & Combs where he remained until he joined Howard, Moss, Loveder & Strickroth in 1987. His private practice work focused on insurance defense, products liability, and construction defect litigation. He also served as an arbitrator for the Orange County Superior Court. He was appointed to the bench in 2010 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is a Republican.
