Judge Theresa Mary Traber received her undergraduate degree in English language and history from the University of Michigan in 1980 and her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1984. After passing the California bar in 1984, she joined private, public-interest firm Litt and Stormer until leaving in 1991 to form Traber and Voorhees. Her work in private practice focused on class actions, employment law, civil and constitutional rights, and housing discrimination. She was appointed to the bench in 2015 by Governor Jerry Brown and is a democrat. She has also served as an alternate lawyer representative for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.
