Judge Christy Virginia Keeny received her B.A. from Harvard University and her J.D. Order of the Coif from Stanford Law School in 1988. After graduating from law school, she worked as a law clerk in the Ninth Circuit for Judge William A. Norris from 1988-1989 (Judge Norris officiated her wedding in 1990). After passing the California bar in 1989, she joined Litt & Stormer from 1989-1991 as a public interest fellow. From 1991-1993 she was a senior trial attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Los Angeles where she litigated class actions against California employers. She then joined Hadsell & Stormer, Inc., becoming partner in 1998 (the firm was later named Hadsell, Stormer, Renick & Dai LLP). She was appointed to the bench in 2012 by Governor Jerry Brown.
