Defendant Mark Sampang’s Motion to Strike Portions of Second Amended Complaint

Defendant Mark Sampang moves to strike five portions of plaintiff Jane Doe’s second amended complaint.  These portions concern different demands for relief, including punitive damages.

On August 16, 2022, the court continued the hearing on this motion.  The court stated, “Assuming plaintiff is correct that this motion constitutes a motion for reconsideration, Judge Tamzarian should decide it.”  The court exercises its discretion to continue the hearing again for the same reason.

  The hearing on defendant Mark Sampang’s motion to strike portions of plaintiff’s second amended complaint is hereby continued to November 14, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. 

Order to Show Cause Re: Further Stay

On June 10, 2022, the court issued the following order: “The court hereby stays all discovery propounded to defendant Mark Sampang and all discovery propounded by defendant Mark Sampang until October 7, 2022.  The discovery stay includes discovery requests and deposition notices that have already been issued but have not been responded to.”  The court also set this order to show cause to further extend the stay.

The court exercises its discretion to continue the matter for Judge Tamzarian to decide it.   

The order to show cause re: further stay is hereby continued to November 14, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.  The court hereby extends the discovery stay until November 14, 2022.
