[TENTATIVE] ORDER GRANTING MOTION TO BE RELIEVED AS COUNSEL Dept. 31 1:30 p.m. February 23, 2023 |
Plaintiff Fasica Shiferaw’s (“Plaintiff”) attorney of record, Todd B. Becker, Esq. (“Counsel”), seeks to be relieved as counsel contending there has been an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship, and that continued representation of Plaintiff will result in Counsel violating the Rules of Professional Conduct. Counsel declares the moving papers were served on Plaintiff via mail at Plaintiff’s last known address. Counsel has filed proof of service on Plaintiff and on Defendant.
The motion is unopposed and granted; the ruling is effective upon filing proof of service of the final order. The Court notes the next scheduled matter is a Final Status Conference set for July 14, 2023, and trial is not scheduled until July 28, 2023. Therefore, there is sufficient time for Plaintiff to seek other counsel or otherwise prepare for trial. The Court encourages Plaintiff to seek other counsel expeditiously to protect Plaintiff’s interests in this matter.
Counsel is ordered to give notice.
