PERMITTING LORI A. METCALF, ESQ. TO APPEAR AS COUNSEL PRO HAC VICE is GRANTED.
Background
This is a childhood sexual assault case.
On July 13, 2023, Plaintiffs DARLEEN DIAZ, BERNICE PEREZ,
DESIREE PEREZ, JANE ROE 8, and ASHLEY RUIZ filed suit.
On September 13, 2023, Plaintiffs filed a Notice of Related
Case (23STCV16430, Salud Gonzalez, et al. vs International Churches of Christ,
et al.).
On March 13, 2024, Plaintiffs filed their first amended
complaint (FAC) against Defendants INTERNATIONAL CHURCHES OF CHRIST, INC., an
unincorporated association and former California nonprofit corporation; THOMAS
(“KIP”) McKEAN, an individual; ROB KOSBERG, an individual; CONNIE KOSBERG, an
individual; STEVE GANSERT-MORICI, an individual; JACQUELINE GANSERT-MORICI, an
individual; DAVID SARACINO, an individual; CHRIS DEL ROSARIO, an individual;
BRUCE WILLIAMS, an individual; ROBIN WILLIAMS, an individual; and DOES 1–10,
inclusive for:
On March 22, 2024, LORI A. METCALF filed the instant motion.
Discussion
LORI A. METCALF seeks to appear as counsel pro hac vice in
this action on behalf of Defendant Thomas “Kip” McKean. Attorney Metcalf is a
partner with the law firm of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, PA, which is
Defendant’s attorney of record in this case.
Considering
that the application comports with California Rules of Court, Rule 9.40, the
court grants King’s application.
Conclusion
Based on the foregoing, the application is granted.
