Judge: Craig Griffin, Case: "Balboa Capital Corporation vs. Lauren Swerdloff, MD", Date: 2022-09-12 Tentative Ruling

Robert K. Kent’s (“Kent”) Motion to Be Relieved as Counsel of Record (“Motion” – ROA #89) for defendants Lauren Swerdloff, MD, A Medical Corporation and Lauren Swerdloff (“Defendants” together) is GRANTED.

Kent has complied with the requirements of California Rule of Court 3.1362 and has filed and served forms MC-051, MC-052, and MC-053 upon Defendants and all parties who have appeared in this action.  Kent has indicated good cause for requesting relief.  After hearing no objections, the court will relieve Kent of his duties as attorney of record for Defendants in this matter. 

The court notes the Motions do not have the current 05/01/23 trial date.  Kent is ordered to notify Defendants of the trial date in writing along with the court’s order.  The court also notes Kent filed two identical motions to be relieved, one on 05/10/22 and one on 05/19/22.  (ROA #77, 89.)  Presumably this was due to Kent failing to file the required from MC-053 with the 05/10/22 filing.  The court will moot ROA #77 and grant ROA #89.)
