Judge: Craig Griffin, Case: Williams v. Skaggs-Tatum, Date: 2022-10-24 Tentative Ruling

The hearing on the Order to Show Cause re Contempt is OFF-CALENDAR.

Defendants Corrine Skaggs-Tatum, Camille Williams and Lyndi Kennedy (collectively “Defendants”) moved for an order for Plaintiff Major Williams to show cause why he should not be held in contempt for failure to comply with this Court’s February 14, 2022 Order that he pay to Defendants $9,145.25 in attorney’s fees and cost.

On 09/12/22, the Court granted Defendants’ motion and set an Order to Show Cause re Contempt for 10/24/22 at 2:00pm in this department.  The Court directed Defendants’ counsel to submit a proposed Order to Show Cause within 5 days.  However, no such proposed OSC has yet been submitted (only a Proposed Order to Set Order to Show Cause re Contempt of Court Order was submitted)..

Accordingly, the Court lacks jurisdiction to proceed with the hearing as a signed Order to Show Cause has not issued and has not been served on Plaintiff.  (Cedars-Sinai Imaging Med. Group v. Super. Ct. (2000) 83 Cal.App.4th 1281, 1286-1287.)

Moving Defendants to give notice.
