On January 30, 2023, the Court (Hon. Mary H. Strobel, presiding) related the instant case to Warren E&P, Inc. et al. v. City of Los Angeles et al. (23STCP00060), E & B Natural Resources Management Corporation et al. v. City of Los Angeles et al. (23STCP00070), and National Association of Royalty Owners-California, Inc. et al. v. City of Los Angeles et al. (23STCP00106).

On September 19, 2023, the Court entered an order to hear the state preemption claims for all the related cases in this first phase of trial. Petitioners Native Oil Producers and Employees of California and Western States Petroleum Association did not assert any state preemption claim in their Verified Petition for Writ of Mandate. Accordingly, the hearing on petitioners’ Verified Petition for Writ of Mandate is taken OFF-CALENDAR.
