  BACKGROUND

  
  

  On November 1, 2019, Plaintiffs Laura Vasquez Ochoa (“Ochoa”), Amalia Castanza (“Amalia”) and Violeta Castanza (“Violeta”) filed this action against Defendant Fabian Godinez Contreras (“Defendant”) for motor vehicle negligence and general negligence.

  
  

  On February 27, 2020, Defendant filed an answer.

  
  

  On November 8, 2022, Petitioner Laura Vasquez Ochoa (“Petitioner”) filed Petitions to Approve Compromise of Pending Action on Behalf of Minors, to be heard on February 8, 2023.

  
  

   

  
  

  PARTY’S REQUESTS

  
  

  Petitioner Laura Vasquez Ochoa asks the Court to approve the compromises of the pending action on behalf of Plaintiffs Amalia Castanza and Violeta Castanza.

  
  

   

  
  

  DISCUSSION

  
  

  Petitioner’s applications are complete with all applicable attachments. However, the Court will not award attorney’s fees exceeding 25%. The Court reduces attorney’s fees for Violeta’s petition to $1,000.00. The net settlement for Violeta totals $2,575.50.

  
  

  Petitioner requests the net balance be paid to parent of the minor, Laura Vasquez Ochoa, without bond, at 24425 Wolsey Canyon Rd #86, Canoga Park, CA 91304. The Court orders the balance so distributed.

  Petitions to Approve Compromise of Pending Action on Behalf of Minor Amalia Castanza and Violeta Castanza filed by Petitioner Laura Vasquez Ochoa are GRANTED. The Court orders the net balances be distributed as requested by Petitioner.
