Having
considered the petitioning papers, the Court rules as follows. 




 




BACKGROUND




On
April 22, 2020, Plaintiffs Jameson Rodriguez (“Rodriguez”) and Jaqueline
Williams (“Williams” or “Petitioner”) filed this action against Defendants Sara
Soto, M.D. (“Soto”), PIH Health Hospital-Whittier (“Hospital”), PIH Health
Physicians (“Physicians”), Julia Wilner, M.D. (“Wilner”) and Christine Besel,
NP, NCM (“Besel”) for general negligence and emotional distress.




On
August 6, 2020, Plaintiffs filed the FAC.




On
August 17, 2020, Hospital filed an answer. On August 24, 2020, Besel filed an
answer. On September 11, 2020, Soto and Physicians filed an answer. On
September 29, 2020, Willner filed an answer; Willner was later dismissed, with
prejudice, on July 15, 2021. On January 25, 2022, Besel was dismissed, with
prejudice. Hospital was dismissed, with prejudice, on April 8, 2022.




On
December 21, 2022, Petitioner filed a Petition to Approve Compromise of Pending
Action on Behalf of Minor Jameson Rodriguez, to be heard on January 20, 2023.




 




PARTY’S REQUESTS




Petitioner Jacqueline Williams asks
the Court to approve the compromise of the pending action on behalf of
Plaintiff Jameson Rodriguez.




 




DISCUSSION




Petitioner’s application is complete
with all applicable attachments. The Court grants the petition.
