Having reviewed Defendant The Hertz Corporation’s unopposed Motion to Deem Requests for Admission Admitted, the Court rules as follows.
On May 26, 2022, Defendant The Hertz Corporation served Requests for Admission, Set No. One on Plaintiff Haran Jackson.
Responses were due June 28, 2022. Plaintiff Haran Jackson has failed to provide timely responses. Defendant The Hertz Corporation now moves the Court to deem the requests for admission admitted.
The Court grants the motion pursuant to Code of Civ. Proc. § 2033.280 and deems the requests to be admitted.
Defendant The Hertz Corporation requests monetary sanctions totaling $487.50.
The Court awards sanctions pursuant to Code of Civ. Proc. § 2023.030 (a) and Code of Civ. Proc. § 2033.280 (c) in the amount of $487.50, calculated as follows:
Defendant requests sanctions totaling $487.50, based upon 2.5 hours of attorney’s work at a rate of $195.00 per hour. The Court fins the request reasonable and grants it in full.
The sanctions total $487.50 and are payable by Plaintiff Haran Jackson and his counsel by October 21, 2022.
