Judge: Donald F. Gaffney, Case: Veinot v. M.P. Construction, Date: 2022-12-21 Tentative Ruling

TENTATIVE RULING:

Defendant Seal Beach Mutual moves to compel Plaintiff Jeri Veinot to provide further responses to the first set of special interrogatories and requests for production of documents.  For the following reasons, the motion is DENIED as moot.  The request for sanctions is GRANTED.

Plaintiff served amended responses to the discovery requests on November 14, 2022.  Defendant contends those amended responses are still deficient, but does not explain and expound on this contention in the reply papers.  If Defendant seeks to compel Plaintiff to provide further responses, then Defendant should file another motion.  At this point, the only remaining issue appears to be the issue of sanctions.

Plaintiff is ordered to pay sanctions of $400 per motion (for a total of $800) to Defendant within 30 days of notice of this ruling.  (Code Civ. Proc. § 2030.290(c), § 2031.300(c).)

Defendant to give notice.
