Moving Party’s Position and Analysis
Plaintiffs’ California counsel, Gene
Shioda, has filed a renewal of the pro hac vice status of Ohio Attorneys Andrew
R. Young and D.J. Young III and Minnesota Attorney Stephanie A. Ball. The
declarations of these attorneys filed in support of their application for
renewal of their pro hac vice status comply with the requirements of Cal. Rules
of Court Rule 9.40. Their applications include (1) the applicants’ residences
and office addresses; (2) the courts to which the applicants have been admitted
to practice and the dates of admission; (3) that the applicants are licensees
in good standing in those courts; (4) that the applicants are not currently
suspended or disbarred in any court; and (5) the name, address, and telephone
number of the active licensee (Gene Shioda) of the State Bar of California who
is the attorney of record. (See Cal. Rules of Court Rule 9.40(d).)
The applications have also included
proof that the State Bar of California approved their pro hac vice applications
and proof that the applicants paid the fee for application. Accordingly, their
applications for renewal should be approved.
