Plaintiff Palm Finance Corporation’s Motion for Award of Attorney’s Fees (UNOPPOSED)

On January 11, 2022 the court granted Palm Finance’s motion for summary judgment against defendant Hoffman. Hoffman appealed on January 21, 2022. On September 26, 2023 the Court of Appeal affirmed the trial court’s ruling and awarded Palm Finance costs and reasonable attorney’s fees on appeal. Palm Finance moves for an award of attorney’s fees and costs.

Palm Finance’s attorney John F. Kurtz states his work on appeal generated $17,043.00 in attorney’s fees. Kurtz billed at $380 per hour in 2022 and $390 per hour in 2023, while his paralegal billed at $100 per hour. Kurtz declaration ¶9. Palm Finance seeks $469.28 in appellate costs consisting of filing fees, efiling fees and recording fees. Kurtz declaration exhibit B. The itemization indicates the time spent on appeal-related tasks was reasonable, as are costs. Id. There is no opposition.

GRANTED. Palm Finance awarded $17,043 in fees and $469.28 in costs, totaling $17,502.28.
