Plaintiff’s Hseih to Compel Discovery Responses and Request for Sanctions

Plaintiff served defendant with special interrogatories and requests for admission on May 23, 2023. On June 14, 2023 the court ordered defendant to respond to written discovery by June 23, 2023. Augustus failed to respond. Plaintiff moves to compel. Absent an opposition, there is no basis for the court to doubt plaintiff’s representation that defendant failed to comply with her discovery obligations. Plaintiff to provide verified responses to interrogatories , without objection, within 10 days. The requests for admission are deemed admitted.

Monetary sanctions are justified. Plaintiff’s request for $948.12 in sanctions, representing 2.5 hours of attorney time at $350/hr. plus $73.12 in fees, is reasonable. Payable within 30 days.
