Motion for Final Approval

The court GRANTS the Motion for Final Approval of Class Action Settlement and PAGA Settlement.

The court awards the requested disbursements, except for the following, which are less than requested: The court reduces the attorney cost award by $94.17 to $2,096.10. The court does not find it fair or reasonable for the class to pay nearly $100 for counsel’s lunch at mediation. Also, the court awards an enhancement of $5,000 to Plaintiff rather than the $7,500 requested. The court finds these amounts to be fair and reasonable.

The court will sign the Proposed Order and Judgment with the above modifications as well as some additional non-substantive modifications.

A Final Accounting is set for May 3, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in Department CX101. At least 10 calendar days prior to the hearing, Plaintiffs shall submit a final report from the Settlement Administrator regarding the status of the settlement administration.

The court does not require any appearance at the hearing scheduled for 9/1/2022.
