Motion to Appear Pro Hac Vice

The application of Indiana attorney Jeffrey Mortier to appear pro hac vice on behalf of defendant Suzuki Motor Corporation is GRANTED.  (Cal. Rules of Court, rule 9.40.)  The court is aware that the plaintiff opposes the application, but the court concludes that none of the arguments raised would justify a refusal to admit counsel pro hac vice in this case.

California attorney Jordan S. Tabak is the associated attorney of record.  (California State Bar No. 261280.)

The defendant shall give notice.

Renewed Motion to for Ruling on Objections

The renewed motion of the defendant Suzuki Motor Corporation for rulings on its objections to the declaration of Jeffrey Hyatt is DENIED as MOOT.

The plaintiff shall give notice.

Status Conference

The court intends to set a trial date within six months of the hearing.  Given the age of the case, and how well the parties know the issues, there is no reason to delay trial.

Counsel are all reminded that under the California Rules of Court trial dates are firm and certain.
