Judge: Glenn R. Salter, Case: 21-1236393, Date: 2022-08-18 Tentative Ruling

On the court’s own motion, the demurrer and motion to strike filed by the defendant to the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Causes of Action of the First Amended Complaint is CONTINUED to October 6, 2022, at 1:30 pm.

1.    A Petition for Coordination was filed by the defendants in Los Angeles County.  So far, there has been no notice to the court as to whether that Petition has been granted or denied.  Do the parties know the status of the petition?

2.    Is venue properly laid in Orange County?  The court is unfamiliar with the seller of the vehicle—Hanlees Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Kia.  Is that dealer located in Orange County?

3.    It does not appear that the parties engaged in a meaningful meet and confer.  The parties are ORDERED to meet and confer as required by statute and to engage in a good faith and meaningful discussion as to the validity of these three causes of action.

The plaintiffs shall give notice.
