Based on the block billing invoices submitted by Petitioner's Counsel, the Court cannot determine whether the time spent on certain tasks was compensable and/or reasonably incurred. If Petitioner's Counsel wishes, he may refile the instant motion with itemized billing records, as opposed to the current block billing format. (See Heritage Pacific Financial, LLC v. Monroy (2013) 215 Cal.App.4th 972, 1010 ('Trial courts retain discretion to penalize block billing when the practice prevents them from discerning which tasks are compensable and which are not.').) If applicable, a new hearing date will be set by the Court at oral argument.
