Four Motions to Compel Further Responses to Discovery

Plaintiff Alyson Decker has filed four motions for an orders compelling defendant Chris Matthew Group, LLC, to provide responses and further responses to the first sets of requests for production and admissions and form general and employment interrogatories and for a monetary sanction of $10,730 against this defendant and its attorneys of record.

The first motion was filed in June and the additional motions were filed in September. The motions appear to be identical to the first motion, and my only guess is that the Clerk’s office made plaintiff to turn the filing into four separate motions to collect the appropriate filing fees to obtain orders addressing four different sets of discovery propounded to the same party.

Defendant served supplemental responses to the discovery on October 19, 2022. The supplemental responses make the motions to compel MOOT with the exception of the request for sanctions.

If plaintiff’s counsel believes that the supplemental responses are inadequate, plaintiff’s counsel should initiate the meet and confer process with respect to these responses.

Sanctions are reduced to $3000 and are imposed against defendant and defense counsel and payable to plaintiff and plaintiff’s counsel within 30 days.

Plaintiff to give notice.
