Petition to Approve Compromise of Pending Action of a Minor (Jane Doe, Age 11)
DECISION
The petition is granted / approved as set-forth in the petition, pending the appearance of the Guardian Ad Litem at the hearing. The Court finds good cause to excuse the minor from appearing at the hearing.
At the hearing, the Court will set an OSC Re: (1) Dismissal; (2) Proof of purchase of a single-premium deferred annuity in the amount of $416,414.15; and (3) Proof of deposit of $50,000 into a blocked account.
Moving party is ordered to provide notice.
Discussion
On July 13, 2022, the Court found the settlement amount and requested attorney’s fees were reasonable. However, the Court found various issues that precluded the granting of the petition. The Court thus continued the hearing on the petition. The Court indicated corrected documents must be filed at least five court days in advance of the continued hearing date.
Petitioner filed an amended petition on July 13, 2022. Petitioner filed a second amended petition on July, 14, 2022.
The second amended petition filed on July 14, 2022 corrected the issues set forth in the July 13, 2022 court order.
Accordingly, the petition is granted/approved as set forth in the petition.
