 [TENTATIVE] orders RE:

(1)   MOTION FOR CONTINUANCE OF HEARING

(2)   MOTION TO TRANSFER VENUE to WEST DISTRICT (SANTA MONICA)

On October 25, 2024, Defendants Saman Manavi and Manavi Law Group (collectively, “Defendants”) filed the instant motion to transfer the venue of this case to Los Angeles Superior Court – West District (Santa Monica).  No opposition to the transfer motion has been filed.

On October 30, 2024, Plaintiff Jay Cohen (“Plaintiff”) filed the instant motion to continue the hearing for the motion to transfer to March 5, 2025, the same date as the Case Management Conference.  Plaintiff testifies that he is unable to attend the hearing for the motion to transfer on January 10, 2025 “due to the medical condition of his 82-year-old father, who has undergone brain tumor removal surgery and suffers from Parkinson’s disease.  Additionally, the Plaintiff’s 80-year-old mother requires assistance in caring for the Plaintiff’s father.  At the time of the hearing, the Plaintiff will be out of state.  The Plaintiff is currently seeking legal representation for the upcoming trial.”  (Motion to Continue, p. 2; Declaration of Jay Scott Cohen, p. 1.)

The Court notes that the motion to continue is unopposed.

Accordingly, the Motion for Continuance of Hearing is GRANTED.

The Motion to Transfer Venue to West District (Santa Monica) is CONTINUED to February 28, 2025, Dept. 8:30 AM, Burbank Courthouse.

Plaintiff shall provide notice of this order.
