Cross-Complainant Superior Grocers’
motion to compel initial response from Cross-Defendant Assetan Stylla to its
Form Interrogatories is GRANTED. Plaintiff, who is representing herself in
pro per, is sanctioned $350.

response from Cross-Defendant Assetan Stylla to its Special Interrogatories is
GRANTED. Plaintiff, who is representing herself in pro per, is
sanctioned $350.
Cross-Complainant Superior Grocers’ motion to compel initial response
from Cross-Defendant Assetan Stylla to its RFPs is GRANTED. Plaintiff, who is
representing herself in pro per, is sanctioned $350.
Cross-Complainant Superior Grocers’ motion to have its RFAs deemed
admitted as to Cross-Defendant Assetan Stylla is GRANTED. Plaintiff, who is
representing herself in pro per, is sanctioned $350.
On 6/15/2023, Plaintiff Assetan
Sylla (Plaintiff) filed suit against Superior Grocers (Defendant). On
8/23/2023, Plaintiff filed a first amended complaint (FAC), alleging property
damage, battery, and theft.
On 10/4/2023, Cross-Complainant
Super Center Concepts, Inc. dba Superior Grocers filed a cross-complaint
against Assetan Stylla, alleging: (1) negligence; and (2) conversion.
On 12/12/2024, Cross-Complainant
Superior Grocers (Superior Grocers) moved to compel initial responses to its
Form Interrogatories (Set One), Special Interrogatories (Set One), and Requests
for Production (RFPs) (Set One). Superior Grocers also moved to have its
Requests for Admission (RFAs) (Set One) deemed admitted.
The motions are unopposed.
Discussion
Superior Grocers served
Cross-Defendant Assetan Stylla (Stylla) with the relevant discovery on
10/4/2023. Responses were therefore due on 11/7/2023. To date, no responses
have been received.
Stylla did not oppose the motion,
and thus has not set forth any substantial justification for the failure to
respond.
Based on the foregoing, Superior
Grocers motions to compel initial discovery and have its RFAs deemed admitted
are granted. Plaintiff, who is representing herself in pro per, is
sanctioned $350.00 per motion ($350/hr x 1 hr), for a total of $1,400.
It is so
