TENTATIVE RULING

            Defendants Virgi L. Khonari (“Defendant”) moves for several orders against Plaintiff Kourosh Noghabaie (“Plaintiff”).  Defendant seeks to compel responses to special interrogatories and requests for production of documents.  Defendant also moves to deem  admitted request for admissions.  With respect to both motions, Defendant seeks monetary sanctions.

            The Court rules as follows:

1.      Defendant’s motion to compel is granted in part.  Within twenty days, Plaintiff shall provide full and complete responses without objection, and all responsive documents, to Defendant’s first request for production of documents.  In addition, Plaintiff shall within twenty days pay $500 in monetary sanctions directly to Defendant’s counsel.

2.      Defendant’s motion to deem the request for admission is denied.  Plaintiff served requests for admission prior to the hearing of this matter.  The Court orders, however, that Plaintiff shall within twenty days pay an additional $500 in monetary sanctions directly to Defendant’s counsel.
