PETITION
TO APPROVE MINOR’S COMPROMISE
MOVING PARTY: Petitioner
Brandon Richardson Scott
RESPONDING PARTY: No opposition
Claimant,
Trinity Richardson Scott, a minor, by and through her parent, Petitioner, Brandon Richardson Scott, has agreed to settle her claims against Defendants Sandy Mukai-Kim and
Alberto Sanchez in exchange for $4,000.
Court
approval is required for all settlements of a minor’s claim. (Probate Code §§ 3500, 3600, et seq.; Code Civ. Proc. § 372.) The petition must be verified and “must
contain a full disclosure of all information that has any bearing on the
reasonableness of the compromise, covenant, settlement, or disposition.”¿ (Cal.
Rules of Court, rule 7.950.)¿¿
If
approved, $133.32 will be used to pay medical expenses, $1,000 will be used to
pay attorney’s fees, and $600.47 will be used to pay other expenses, leaving a balance
of $2,267.94 for Claimant, to be deposited to Citizen’s Bank in El Segundo,
California, subject to withdrawal only on authorization of the court.
The
Court has reviewed the Petition and finds that the proposed settlement is fair
