Subject to the “Notice of Filing Increase to Transfer Price,” the Amended Petition For Approval of Transfer of Structured Settlement Payment Rights re: B.Z. (Bryan Zavala), is granted.

After consideration of the pleadings and files in this matter, and expressly subject to the increased transfer price filed with the Court on 8/22/22, (ROA 29), the Court finds that the subject transfer is “fair and reasonable” and in the “best interest” of the payee. In reaching this conclusion, the Court has considered, not only the payee’s current financial situation and child support obligations, but the reasonable preference and desire of the payee to complete the transaction, including payee’s stated “intent” to use the proceeds to pay off his car loan and credit card debt, as well as to invest “the majority of the transfer price with a dedicated financial advising team.” Additionally, the payee has expressed that none of the payments to be transferred were intended to pay for necessary living expenses, future living expenses, or future medical care. (Ins. Code § 10139.5(a)-(d).) Lastly, Petitioner has complied with the statutory requirements, including notice and the requisite disclosures, and no one has opposed the transfer.

Petitioner shall give notice of the ruling.
