(b)(2) Any purchase of a personal residence for a beneficiary may be made only if authorized by the court pursuant to the rules applicable to conservatorships and guardianships. (See Probate Code § 2571.) 

(b)(3) Any sale of a personal residence of the beneficiary may be made only if authorized by the court pursuant to the rules applicable to conservatorships and guardianships. Such sales must be returned to court for confirmation. (See Probate Code §§ 2540(b), 10300 et seq.) 

(b)(4) The trustee may not borrow money, lend money, give security, lease, convey, or exchange any property of the estate without prior authorization of the court. (See Probate Code § 2550.) 

The proposed order provides a blank for the bond amount (Order PDF, p. 5, para. 3). The order must specify the bond amount. Suggested bond: $102,000. 

Include an order requiring the filing of LASC Form PRO 044 (Notice of Commencement of Proceedings for a Court Supervised Trust) in the Probate Division within 60 days of the date of the order. 

Include an order requiring the trustee to file the first accounting within 14 months of the date of the order, with an actual calendar due date specified. 

Include an Order to Show Cause (OSC) set for approximately 60 days from the date of the order, to confirm the following: • Settlement has been funded 
• Bond has been submitted 
• Purchase of annuity (if relevant) 
• LASC Form PRO 044 has been filed
