Case Number: 22NWCV00700 Hearing Date: March 3, 2025 Dept: F
Barajas, et al. v. American
Honda Motor Co. Inc. (22NWCV00700)
This lemon law action was filed on
August 11, 2022. Trial is currently set for March 26, 2025. Defendant American
Honda Motor Co., Inc. now moves ex parte to continue trial and related dates to
May 12, 2025, or a date thereafter convenient to the Court. Trial has been
continued three times previously—twice via ex parte application and once via
stipulation.  Defendant asserts a continuance is warranted because the
parties have been unable to conduct depositions of both sides’ expert
witnesses.
Defendant’s Ex Parte Application
to Continue Trial is GRANTED pursuant to CRC Rule 3.1332(c)(6)- A party's
excused inability to obtain essential testimony, documents, or other material
evidence despite diligent efforts. A continuance to a date on or after May 12,
2024 is reasonable. The Court will confer with the parties to select new trial
and final status conference dates. Discovery and all trial deadlines will track
the new trial date. Moving Party to give notice.
