Bunn v. Sentinel Offender Services, LLC 22NWCV01209

This action was filed on November 3, 2022. Trial is scheduled to begin on June 12, 2025. 

Defendant now moves ex parte for an order to continue the current trial date of June 12, 2025 to July 21, 2025, or as soon thereafter as the Court's calendar may accommodate. Defendant argues that good cause exists to grant this application because Plaintiff refuses to make herself available for an agreed upon, final session of her deposition prior to the current deadline to file a Motion for Summary Judgment under CCP 437c. Defendant further indicates that Defense Counsel has been unable to complete the deposition due to illness during the first two weeks of December 2024, and Defense Counsel's recent evacuation from his  home due to the Eaton fire in Altadena, CA. 

Defendant's Ex Parte Application to Continue Trial and All Related Deadlines is GRANTED pursuant to CRC Rule 3.1332(c)(6)-- a parties excused inability to obtain essential testimony, documents, or other material evidence despite diligent efforts. A continuance to a date on or after July 21, 2025 is reasonable, depending on the Court and parties' availabilities. The Court will confer with the parties to select new FSC and trial dates. All pre-trial deadlines will correspond with the new trial date. Moving Party to give notice.
