Ceballos v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 23NWCV02286

This lemon law action was filed on July 25, 2023. Trial is scheduled to begin on September 15, 2025. Defendant American Honda Motor Company, Inc.'s Motion for an Order to Show that the Truth of the Matters Specified in Defendant's Requests for Admission be Deemed Admitted is scheduled to be heard after trial on March 25, 2026 in Dept. C. 

Defendant American Honda Motor Co., Inc. ("AHM") now moves ex parte to continue trial to April 30, 2026 "because of Plaintiffs' outstanding written discovery responses, Plaintiffs' depositions, and the vehicle inspection." (Motion 2:1-3.)  Moreover, AHM indicates that Plaintiffs' former counsel's Motion to Withdraw was granted on April 22, 2025, and Plaintiffs (now in pro per) have abandoned this case. 

Defendant AHM's Ex Parte Application to Continue Trial and All-Related Deadlines is DENIED without prejudice to AHM to seek to advance its motion to deem matters admitted to a date before September 2025.  The Court notes that a Notice of Reassignment was filed in this case on May 8, 2025, which states that effective June 2, 2025, this action will be reassigned to Judge Ann H. Park as an individual, direct calendaring judge for all purposes, including trial, in Dept. P.
