This is a petition for approval of transfer of structured settlement. Petitioner One 10ths Finance LLC moves ex parte moves to advance the hearing on petition for approval for transfer of payment rights, which is currently set for January 23, 2025.

A party may seek ex parte relief upon an affirmative factual showing "irreparable harm, immediate danger, or any other statutory basis for granting relief ex parte." (Cal. Rules of Court, rule 3.1202(c).)

Petitioner’s counsel states that the current economic conditions present a unique opportunity for investment that may not be present if the petition is heard on the original scheduled date. (Decl. Sheida, ¶ 6.) Based on this, the Court finds that Petitioner met its showing for ex parte relief.

Petitioner’s ex parte application is GRANTED.  The hearing on the Petition for Approval of Transfer of Payment Rights is advanced from January 23, 2025 to this date and continued to May 14, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in Dept. SE-C.
