Having considered the petitioning papers, the Court rules as follows. 

BACKGROUND 

On September 2, 2021, Plaintiff Aaron Michael Plocky (“Plaintiff”), by and through his co-conservators Karol Plocky and Robert Plocky, filed this action against Defendants State of California, California Department of Transportation, County of Los Angeles (“County”), Alan Hingkit Chan (“Chan”), and Does 1-100 for negligence and dangerous condition of public property. 

On October 29, 2021, The People of The State of California, acting by and through the Department of Transportation (erroneously sued as State of California Department of Transportation, a public entity) and Chan filed an answer.  

Also on October 29, 2021, the County filed an answer.  On July 18, 2022, the Court dismissed the County without prejudice at Plaintiff’s request. 

On January 12, 2024, Plaintiff filed a notice of settlement. 

On February 13, 2024, Petitioner Karol Plocky (“Petitioner”) submitted a petition for approval of the compromise of Plaintiff’s case, to be heard on March 7, 2024. 

No trial date is currently scheduled. 

PETITIONER’S REQUEST 

Petitioner Karol Plocky asks the Court to approve the compromise of the pending action of Plaintiff Aaron Michael Plocky.  

DISCUSSION         

Petitioner has submitted a complete petition with all necessary attachments.  The Court grants the petition.

CONCLUSION    

          The Court GRANTS the petition to approve the compromise of Plaintiff Aaron Michael Plocky's action filed by Petitioner Karol Plocky on February 13, 2024.

The Court sets an Order to Show Cause re: distribution of the net settlement proceeds on June 20, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 28 of the Spring Street Courthouse.

          Petitioner is ordered to give notice of the ruling.
