Having considered the petitioning papers, the Court rules as follows. 

BACKGROUND 

On October 31, 2022, Plaintiffs Ana L. Pompa (“Ana or Petitioner”), Teresa Ramos (“Ramos”), Analy Pompa (“Analy”) by and through Guardian ad Litem Ana L. Pompa, and David Pompa by and through Guardian ad Litem Ana L. Pompa filed this action against Defendant Dashawn A. Coley (“Coley”) for motor vehicle and general negligence.

On November 17, 2022, Plaintiffs filed a First Amended Complaint adding Defendant Demetryce Johnson.

On December 20, 2022, Coley filed an answer.

On April 5, 2023, Ramos was dismissed, with prejudice, at Plaintiffs’ request. On April 14, 2023, Ana and Analy were dismissed, with prejudice, at Plaintiffs’ request.

On July 19, 2023, Petitioner Ana L. Pompa filed a petition to approve the compromise of minor David Pompa's claim to be heard on September 15, 2023.

Trial is currently scheduled for April 29, 2024. 

PARTY’S REQUEST 

Petitioner asks the Court to approve the compromise of the pending action of Plaintiff David Pompa. 

DISCUSSION 

Petitioner has submitted a completed petition with all necessary attachments. The Court grants the petition. 

Petitioner requests that the net balance be deposited in an account at Wells Fargo Bank, 141 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007, subject to withdrawal only on authorization of the Court. The Court orders the balance so distributed. 

CONCLUSION 

The Court GRANTS the petition to approve the compromise of the pending action of minor David Pompa filed by Petitioner Ana L. Pompa. The Court orders that the net balance be placed in a blocked account at Wells Fargo Bank, 141 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007. 

The Court sets a OSC Re: Deposit of Net Settlement into Blocked Account on November 28, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., in Department 28 of the Spring Street Courthouse. 

The Court sets a OSC Re: Dismissal of Case (Settlement) on November 28, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., in Department 28 of the Spring Street Courthouse. 

Petitioner is ordered to give notice of this ruling. 

Petitioner is ordered to file the proof of service of this ruling with the Court within five days.
