DISCUSSION
All parties have a right to have a timely filed motion for summary judgment heard before trial. Sentry Ins. Co. v. Superior Court (Garcia) (1989) 207 Cal.App.3d. 528. The Court has the power to provide for the orderly conduct of the proceedings before it. CCP 128.
Accordingly, the Court exercises its discretion to advance the hearing on the motion for summary judgment to a date convenient to the Court. However, given moving party's basis for the continuance, no good cause exists to continue trial-related deadlines.
