Judge: Mark C. Kim, Case: 20LBCV00117, Date: 2022-11-03 Tentative Ruling
Case Number: 20LBCV00117 Hearing Date: November 3, 2022 Dept: S27
Cross-Defendant, Feliciano
Navarrete’s attorney of record, Laurence C. Hall, seeks to be relieved as
counsel, contending an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client
relationship renders further representation impossible. Counsel has filed a declaration establishing
he confirmed his client’s address by phone conversation, and has filed proof of
service of the moving papers on his client and all other parties who have
appeared in the action.
No timely opposition to the motion
has been filed. Trial is not scheduled
until 1/30/23. In light of the lack of
opposition, as well as the lack of prejudice to Cross-Defendant, the motion is
granted. Relief is effective upon filing
proof of service of the final order.
Counsel is ordered to give notice.
Parties who intend to submit
on this tentative must send an email to the court at gdcdepts27@lacourt.org indicating intention to submit on the tentative as
directed by the instructions provided on the court website at www.lacourt.org. If
the department does not receive an email indicating the parties are submitting
on the tentative and there are no appearances at the hearing, the motion may be
placed off calendar. If a party
submits on the tentative, the party’s email must include the case number and
must identify the party submitting on the tentative. If any party does not
submit on the tentative, the party should make arrangements to appear remotely
at the hearing on this matter.
