1.     Background Facts

Plaintiff, Kevin Pugh filed this class action complaint against Defendant, The Airport Collective, Inc. for wage and hour violations on 6/18/19.  The parties participated in mediation and entered into a conditional settlement of all claims.  The Court granted preliminary approval of the settlement on 8/30/22.    

2.     Motion for Final Approval of Settlement

The Court has reviewed the motion for final approval and all related papers.  The Court wishes to hear from Counsel about the request for fees in the amount of 35%, which is in excess of the 33% typically granted in class action cases.  The Court is otherwise satisfied with the motion, and will grant the motion after hearing on the issue of the amount of attorneys’ fees to be awarded. 

The Court asks Counsel to make arrangements to appear remotely at today’s hearing.
