This is a request to continue the trial.  Plaintiff states that she was recently scheduled for emergency surgery, which will be done on March 21, 2025.  The recovery period is 8 weeks.  That will make plaintiff unavailable for trial because trial is currently set for 4/14/25.  Notwithstanding the court’s admonishment that trials will not be continued, the court also recognizes that in emergency situations the rule is obviously different.  Emergency surgery would seem to qualify.  Therefore, the application is GRANTED.  The FSC and trial dates are VACATED.  The court will schedule a TSC for some time in July and will discuss the specific date with counsel.
